REFLECTIVE JOURNAL 01 : INVENTION INNOVATION & DESIGN EXPOSITION

Assalammualaikum w.b.t,

    Frankly, I never thought I’d ever get involved in any of this innovative program. But oh wait, here I am, talking about my most memorable moment!

As young as the age of 16, i volunteered to take part in innovation competitions for a specific product, named Citrus Medica Repellent, held by UITM iidex2020. Yes, it is a nature-based insect repellent product. I was pretty anxious during the process of producing our product because of the limited period. Alhamdulillah I managed to prepare everything including getting authentication from the FELDA, preparing a website, QR code, and eco-friendly packaging under the consultation of my teacher and experienced seniors. Since I was in charge of the group, I managed to lead the group by keeping us on track, giving my full support and words of affirmation to keep them standing firm. Without realising, this has helped me develop the leadership skills in me.

How was the journey? Well, I’d say I was beyond grateful that I got to experience what an innovation program is like. Despite everything, I was exposed to the world of business which is compulsory knowledge for everyone! I got to witness a variety of ideas about inventing various categories of stuff including technology, homecare, selfcare, agriculture, and more. The program also teaches me on how to be a resilient leader, supportive friend and inventive person.

     All in all, I thank god for letting me cross paths with the people I met alongside the struggle I was in during the period of preparing my product. Because of the need for me to focus on SPM, I had to drop everything and give my thanks to all my peers. But if I were to go back in time, I’d do it all over again but better this time.
